At the Copa de Arbol luxury eco-resort there are just 10 individual, free-standing cabinas on the property. Every single luxury cabina comes with hardwood floors, air conditioning, ceiling fans, orthopedic pillow-top mattresses, and private tiled bathrooms with hot water showers. In addition each room has a private balcony or terrace with chairs to take in ocean and rainforest views. Whether it’s a honeymoon, a family vacation, or a hardcore fishing vacation Copa de Arbol has a cabina to fit your needs. There are an assortment of bedding options as well as a few two-level cabinas to give your group the space and privacy you need. All of the rooms were constructed with recycled or reforested woods like cypress, Melina, and teak.

The reason Copa de Arbol is referred to as a luxury eco-resort and not a lodge is because the accommodations are simply too comfortable and the amenities are too nice. Copa de Arbol is one of the few properties in the Drake Bay area that offers a pool, which happens to be four levels, and is the only property with a heated Jacuzzi. It also offers its guests free use of stand-up paddle boards and kayaks, so if you want to bring your own light tackle and fish on your own you certainly can. The open air restaurant is beachfront and offers only the freshest ingredients for its smoothies and ‘catch-of-the-day’ dinners.

With all that being said, the best thing that Copa de Arbol offers its clients is its location and incredible biodiversity. Situated just a few miles from the world famous Corcovado National Park, this 300,000 acre park was called “the most biologically intense place on Earth” by National Geographic. This stunning national park is home to hundreds of species of birds, snakes, crocodiles, four species of monkeys, sloths, giant tapirs, and wild cats – including jaguar and puma. The property itself is 70 acres of untouched primary rainforest so you’ll have monkeys running on your roof and scarlet macaws in the trees above you each morning. You also have a private beach 100 ft away from you, something that is very unique anywhere in Costa Rica. The Corcovado National Park steals most of the headlines but the marine life doesn’t lag far behind. Just seven miles offshore sits Cano Island, which itself is a marine reserve and one of the largest islands in Costa Rica. There is incredible snorkeling and diving here, as well as whale watching in season. Last but not least, the clear cobalt waters off the Osa Peninsula are teeming with game fish as 70 IGFA records have been set within 60 nautical miles of Drake Bay.
