  1. Day One

Fly into Panama City, Panama where you will be met at the airport and taken to your waiting private transfer. The cosmopolitan capital city of Panama is the most modern and vibrant city in Central America, offering its visitors a full buffet of options day and night. You’ll be doused in luxury at the brand new Waldorf Astoria, the first and only Waldorf in Latin America. In room amenities are nothing short of 5-star and the hotel offers a pool, spa, gym, beauty salon, business center, and one of the city’s best sushi restaurants. Located in the upscale banking district you are also just a short walk or taxi ride away from the best nightlife, casinos, and fine dining Panama City has to offer.

  2. Day Two

Today we’ll take you on a full day private tour of Panama City so you can get to know your new country. You’ll start off by touring Panama Viejo and the ruins of the first Spanish settlements dating back to the 1500s. Along your drive through the city your guide will point out other famous locations like former dictator Manuel Noriega’s home and his hideouts during the US invasion in 1989. Next visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Casco Anitguo. This is the French colonial part of the city which is full of shops, great little restaurants, and beautiful colonial architecture. Your last stop will be the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal. Visit their museum to see how the locks were built and remain unchanged over 100 years later. From the visitors center tower you can watch 960 ft Panamax ships go through the locks in just a few minutes as they continue on their journey to between the Caribbean and the Pacific.

  3. Day Three

Let’s go fishing! You’ll be picked up early in the morning at your hotel for a fun day of fishing on the Panama Canal. You’ll fish on the man-made Lake Gatun, which was formed during the construction of the canal in the early 1900s by damning up the Chagres River. Lake Gatun offers a diverse mix of lush rainforest covered banks, river mouths, rocky ledges and acres of submerged forest to provide endless habitat for the aggressive peacock bass. Known locally as “sargento”, it is possible to catch several 2-3 pounders but 7-10 pound trophies are caught on a regular basis.

  4. Day Four

Let’s go fishing! Head into the Pacific Ocean for a great day of in-shore fishing on our 29’ Wells Craft. Troll for jacks, dorado, mackerel, and the prized roosterfish or drop some bait to the bottom and fight your way through grouper, snapper, and amberjacks.

  5. Day Five

Free day! Sleep late, shop, enjoy the pool and spa at the Waldorf, or set up another day tour. From Panama City you can visit the Embera Indians, do the canopy zip-line tour, and even travel to the Caribbean Coast to visit Colon, Fort San Lorenzo, and the new canal expansion project.

  6. Day Six

Let’s go fishing! Spend another day on the lake with your guide and try to complete the Panama Canal Grand Slam – tarpon, snook, and peacock bass. You’ll be on our 23’ Hurricane Fundeck which offers ample seating, lots of cover from the sun and rain (both needed on most days!), and two swivel fishing chairs and a casting platform on the bow. Trolling for snook along rocky outcrops has a proven success rate and tarpon are often found in the canal passage itself.

  7. Day Seven

Last day in Panama! Use this day to sleep in, go shopping, and indulge yourself one more time before you head home.

  8. Day Eight

You will be picked up and taken back to the PTY Airport for your international flight home.
